Social Media Strategist / Consultant

Qube is recruiting again. We’re looking for someone who is fascinated by digital/social technology and how it is impacting our lives.

Someone who can thrive in an open creative environment and personally contribute to the growth of the agency through ground breaking Social Media strategies and initiatives.

We are not necessarily looking for someone who has worked in Social Media before but you will need to have a solid experience in brand communications, ideally from a digital perspective. You will have good business acumen and a strong planning and/or research skill set, be able to take a brief, analyse it and propose the best solution.

A good news blog post…

After a successful 18 months using social media to develop a community and change driving behaviour in West Sussex, the initiative has now been widened to cover the whole of Sussex.

Needless to say, we’re chuffed our social marketing baby is growing up and spreading its wings.

A big thank you to everyone involved, especially the team at West Sussex for being a great client. I also want to say a big thank you to our in-house team of social media analysts and outreach specialists.

Now stop reading this and get on with some work.

All at Qube would like to welcome the fabulous Fiona to a permanent role as Strategy Director here at Qube Media.

Fiona worked with us on a freelance basis late last year before selfishly going off traveling. Now she’s back and has joined us in a permanent capacity, offering us – and more importantly our clients – unparalleled pearls of wisdom and strategic thought in all things social media.

We feel very privileged that we continue to attract talent of such a high level to our operation. And Fiona kite surfs, too. Which wasn’t a prerequisite for the job.

I could tell you more about her, but you might as well read her biog in her own words on our website:

More about Fiona, our new strategy director.

We’re very proud to announce that Andrew Seel has joined the e-consultancy training team. As you’d expect from a social media agency, Andrew will be training on all things social media, with special reference to online communities.

Check him out on the e-consultancy website… you’ll need to page down until you see the guy in a dark suit staring whistfully into the distance…

Last year, Qube took part in the Brighton Internship Programme. We were incredibly lucky with both our candidates and employed both Tom and Glenn. We will be taking part again this year…

If anyone is interested, we highly recommend it. Qube is quoted in the Argus newspaper today, discussing the programme – check it out for more details.

Our social media activity for Apollo’s Pad is starting to create a buzz in the trade press… check out this news story on Brand Republic.

Social media agency Qube Media is rolling out a wide-ranging online pr and user-generated content campaign for new web-based comedy show backed by Sony BMG.

The daily show, called Apollo’s Pad, is produced by Galleon Holdings plc and is set in a run-down New York nightclub run by puppets. Deviant puppets.

The show is funny, satirical and socially relevant in a warped kind of way. Think the Muppets on crack or the Fraggles after they’ve raided their parents’ liquor cabinets and you get the idea.

New comedy clips are uploaded daily to the website and all visitors can view them for free.

Qube’s social media and online pr campaign maximises on the fact Apollo’s Pad is recorded bi-weekly, giving users the opportunity to contribute sketch ideas, jokes, suggest special guest stars. They can also have a go at stand up comedy and even provide a voice-over for characters and quickly see their efforts come to fruition in the show.

A range of activity focusing on the blogosphere and social networks, enabling users to get involved at different levels, will roll out over the next few months.

Features will include the comedy sketch challenge, best stand up comedy avatar and the chance to win a pair of Apollo’s delightful pants.

“The fact Apollo’s Pad stars these amazing puppet characters with real personality and is streamed daily gives us a great opportunity to involve fans at the heart of the show’s development even down to users auditioning for a voice part,” said Andrew Seel, MD of Qube.

Comedy and music fans are urged to sign up at apollospad.com if they want to get involved.
