Saatchi & Saatchi has chosen Qube Media as their social media partner for the new Wall’s brand campaign starting in July.

Qube Media is a strategic social media agency expert in understanding audiences in social networks and building engaged communities around brands on the web.

The new campaign for Wall’s  – Bring it on Britain – places social media at its heart with a Facebook application and community fan page where users can apply for a bursary to help achieve their dreams. Winners are voted for by fans.

Qube will provide research, engagement and measurement services. Firstly, to understand the consumer and marketplace online  – identifying, mapping and monitoring the target audience in social networks. Then secondly, to build and manage an active online community around the new campaign.

Qube MD Andrew Seel said: “Many FMCG brands struggle to build sustainable relationships with their customers on the web. Using social media for the Wall’s campaign is a bold move which will allow consumers to engage directly with the brand in new and exciting ways.”

Qube is one of the original social media agencies in the UK. As a strategic agency, we have helped our clients understand and engage in this space for over 7 years. We work with major brands and organisations including Virgin Atlantic, the Financial Services Authority (FSA) and Sony BMG to deliver significant business return.

For further information on Qube Media contact: Andrew Seel

Qube will be working with 505 games on a new Xbox 360 and PS3 title, Naughty Bear set to be released in the Spring. We will be carrying out community mapping and influencer profiling for 505, and will use this to create a highly targeted engagement strategy.

By finding and profiling the game’s potential audience online we will develop a truly effective engagement strategy that will increase positive word of mouth around the game and increase pre-order figures for the game.

505 are excited about the possibilities this new relationship holds. Uk and Export Product Manager, Emily Bryce-Willams from 505 said “we are really looking forward to working with Qube and establishing who is talking about our product online, and how we can harness this buzz and use it to shape both on and offline marketing efforts.”

The feeling is very much mutual on Qube’s part, and we will keep you up to date on the latest on the Naughty Bear campaign.

Merry Christmas from Qube Media

Posted in Qube on December 22nd, 2009 by nijay

Merry Christmas to all from Qube… hope you have a fantastic festive season. We think Glenn in particular is looking stunning in our Christmas shot… he’s the one front right. Where did he get the beautiful pearls? And who’s the grinning guy behind him? And where has he got his hand?

Also, it has to be said Andrew, our MD, is also looking pretty foxy at the back there with his cigarette holder…

Fiona, unfortunately, seems to have gone all American Psycho… but you can’t have everything.

Merry Christmas all xxx

A good news blog post…

After a successful 18 months using social media to develop a community and change driving behaviour in West Sussex, the initiative has now been widened to cover the whole of Sussex.

Needless to say, we’re chuffed our social marketing baby is growing up and spreading its wings.

A big thank you to everyone involved, especially the team at West Sussex for being a great client. I also want to say a big thank you to our in-house team of social media analysts and outreach specialists.

Now stop reading this and get on with some work.

It’s crazy to think that I have been working at Qube for almost a year now. It seems like last week I went for an interview with Nigel and Andy and started babbling on about space camp (for reasons I still can’t fully explain.)

Well time does fly when you’re having fun, and in a month or so it will be someone elses turn to go through the inquisition, so to everyone who is applying for the Sussex Internship Programme, don’t worry, we won’t bite. Just make sure you’re brilliant every day and you will get on just fine. :)

But seriously, the scheme is a great way to get into the digital industries in Sussex (Glenn and I both got full time jobs out of it) and you learn loads of useful skills. You even get a lovely certificate tied up with a green ribbon at the end.

So if you think you want to work for Qube, or another digital media company in Sussex, take a look at the Sussex Internship programme here. You only have until Friday to apply, so hurry!

If you want any advice about the application process, we would be more than happy to help with any questions. So drop me or Glenn an email. And good luck!

I attended the launch of  Child Protection Online – Best Practice Guide on Tuesday run by Tempero. Lots of interesting information and tips on the type of stuff we need to know if we are working in the social media space.

The one bit of info that stood out for me was:   If more than 25% of traffic to site are children (under 18) then Child Protection laws apply to you.

Here’s a Vox Pox Video from the event: http://www.vimeo.com/5638295

Just how social was Compare The Market campaign?

When is a social media campaign not a social media campaign. Is the infamous meerkat a triumph of social media or was it just another channel for campaign distrubition? An interesting view point which I would like to juxtapose with a video of a meerkat being interviewed.

How to spot a social media snake oil salesman

There are a lot of so called social media experts out there so make sure you know what you are paying for before you buy it!

10 Stunning (and useful) stats about Twitter

All at Qube would like to welcome the fabulous Fiona to a permanent role as Strategy Director here at Qube Media.

Fiona worked with us on a freelance basis late last year before selfishly going off traveling. Now she’s back and has joined us in a permanent capacity, offering us – and more importantly our clients – unparalleled pearls of wisdom and strategic thought in all things social media.

We feel very privileged that we continue to attract talent of such a high level to our operation. And Fiona kite surfs, too. Which wasn’t a prerequisite for the job.

I could tell you more about her, but you might as well read her biog in her own words on our website:

More about Fiona, our new strategy director.
